New statutory trust accounting obligations for water market intermediaries
New statutory trust accounting obligations for eligible water markets intermediaries have been legislated as part of the wider Murray–Darling Basin water markets reforms. These obligations will commence on 1 July 2025.
Intermediaries will be required to maintain a trust account in circumstances when they receive money on behalf of another person in the
course of providing water markets intermediary services.
